VIP (Very Important Player) Soccer at Region 8
Soccer is for Everyone
The AYSO (American Youth Soccer
Organization) VIP Program recognizes that everyone needs to feel a sense of
belonging and acceptance. Through participation in soccer, VIP players
experience this and more.
Everyone Plays
Our goals for every participating
player are to have fun playing soccer, understand soccer fundamentals, learn
teamwork and fair play, increase positive self esteem, become more physically
fit, and to meet new friends.
Everyone BenefitsVIP benefits all participants, not just
the players. Buddies and other volunteers increase their understanding
and appreciation of people with special needs. They find their lives
enriched by their involvement with these new VIP friends. For parents and
caregivers who may have thought they would never see their children playing a
sport and belonging to a group, VIP renews hope and gives them joy. They
are able to relax and enjoy watching their VIP players having fun like everyone
else.
The Players
VIP teams are typically small and
coeducational. VIP teams include players from age 5 and older with
special physical, mental and/or emotional needs. When numbers
allow, older and younger age divisions may be formed. Flexibility is the
key.
Getting Involved
The season at Region 8 in Granada Hills
runs from September 12 to December 2009 with all games and practice sessions on
9:00 AM Saturday at Petit Park. For more

SIGN UP September 12, 9:00 @ Petit Park. Fees for the 2009 season
$65.00 includes uniform, yearbook,
picture package, trophy and insurance.
